Born into a family of Lawyers, her daughter being the 5th generation, the one core value that has kept Sonia going is that of ‘service’ since she started her legal career in 1987. After almost 2 decades of a glorious innings as a Lawyer, driven by her passion to serve at a deeper level, Sonia decided to turn a new leaf and foray into Coaching and Facilitation.

Sonia is an All-India Merit Lister from The Lawrence School, Sanawar. She graduated in Political Science (Hons) from Lady Shri Ram College and then excelled in LLB, University of Delhi.
Sonia enjoys 34 years of client service, 18 years as a Lawyer and last 16 years as a Coach and Facilitator across the globe. She started her training career with Dale Carnegie Training. A Certified Professional Coach by the Academy for Coaches, she was an external Facilitator with Mckinsey & Co. for a decade.
Sonia’s contribution of over 3 decades was lauded at the India Economic & Law Summit where she was bestowed the prestigious “Excellence in Leadership Transformation through Communication” Award.
In 2020 she was conferred the “Dr. Sarojini Naidu International Award for Women for her contribution to the growth of the country.”
Sonia works with individuals and teams in creating and enhancing trust, credibility, interpersonal skills, relationships, strong culture and a powerful brand through Strategic & Effective Communication. Am grateful that I have played a small part in several breakthroughs and transformation journeys of individuals, companies and initiatives,” she humbly adds.
Theatre and musicals have been a part of her life since childhood. Acted in Oliver Twist & Pirates of Penzance. She has played female lead in a German Film “Der ring des Buddha.” She has acted in popular web series “Baked” and released 2 music albums (lyrics, music and voice). Her poetry in Hindi and English has been much appreciated.
She writes thought provoking articles for several magazines. She is writing a series “Questiquette” on the “Etiquette of asking questions” and quotations derived from her own life experiences.
She has dedicated her service to creating ethical and adaptive Leadership that can be an inspiration to future generations. It is no surprise that her clients all across the globe address her in the following ways, “A legend” “A beacon Light” “A Coach who can chisel a rough stone into a diamond.”
A happy wife to her school buddy, Sanjay Mehta, she prides herself in Sanjay’s shared value of “service” as he is committed to the prosperity of apple farmers in Himachal Pradesh. The same values of service are imbibed by their children. Swati, a gold medallist in Law runs a successful Law firm Zon Legal along with her brilliant lawyer husband Aditya. Artistically inclined son Akash has created popular web series, “Baked” and a feature film and is now pursuing higher studies overseas.
